Before your first appointment

A practical guide to laser hair removal

Laser treatment works with the hair growth cycle, so good preparation and a realistic schedule matter as much as the appointment itself.

Arrive with the treatment area prepared exactly as the salon advises and share any recent sun exposure, waxing, medication or skin sensitivity before treatment begins.

Before the session

Weeks before

Avoid waxing or other methods that remove the hair from its root. The salon currently advises allowing four weeks after waxing before laser treatment.

Two weeks before

Avoid intentional UV exposure on the area. Tell the specialist about recent tanning or travel before confirming the date.

On the day

Follow the salon's shaving and skincare instructions. Bring a list of medication and products used on the area.

What the appointment involves

Lotus Beauty Club uses a system combining diode, Alexandrite and Nd:YAG wavelengths. The specialist selects settings for the treatment area and your skin and hair characteristics rather than applying one standard protocol.

Hair follicles are not all active at the same moment. That is why laser hair removal is planned as a course of appointments, with timing adjusted to the body area and individual response. Ask for your expected schedule during the consultation rather than relying on a universal session count.

Aftercare and normal questions

Temporary redness around follicles can occur. The salon advises avoiding very hot water on the treated area and using high sun protection around treatment dates. Your specialist should give instructions suited to the area and season.

Pause and check first

Medication, antibiotics, active irritation, recent cosmetic procedures and sun exposure may affect whether an appointment should go ahead. Tell the salon before the session; do not stop prescribed medication without speaking to the clinician who prescribed it.

Useful consultation questions

  • How should I prepare this specific area?
  • How will my skin and hair characteristics affect the plan?
  • What reaction is expected and when should I contact the salon?
  • How should appointments fit around holidays, tanning or other treatments?
